Meet Bunky
4/6/2022 Update
HELP NEEDED! "Bunky" came into our care very late Tues. 4.5.22 evening. We need to raise donations to cover his medical care & we need an EMERGENCY MEDICAL FOSTER asap! Bunky is super sweet even though he is in a great deal of pain. He is litterbox trained. We don't know if his jaw is broken, if he has an abscess in his mouth, or if he has cancer. Tomorrow, Thurs. 4.7.22 he will be go into surgery at Swan Creek IF they think he can be saved. He will need a foster caregiver to help him heal. Once his mouth is healed he will be neutered and then we will be looking for a home for him if he hasn't been claimed. (FOUND notice posted with the Humane Society). 4/11/2022 Update CUDDLER ALERT!!!! FOSTER, FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED by Friday 4.15. Bubbie-Bunky is currently in A LOT of PAIN at the moment & still wants nothing more than to sit in someone's lap- ANYONE'S lap. His teeth are fractured, broken & he has exposed roots everywhere at the moment. But, Tues he will have them removed & be neutered. He's combo tested, is using the litterbox & eating canned food watered down. He has a medical foster lined up until Friday but than will need a new place to go & continue recovering until we can find him a home. He's good with cats. (We don't know about dogs, yet, but given his disposition, the amount of pain he's in & the fact that he doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in his body, he'll likely be ok with dogs too.) We've filed a Found notice with the county shelters, but given his physical condition & the fact he's intact, should someone claim him they are going to need to prove that they have vetted him in the past & that they posted Lost notices when he went missing because this guy has been sorely neglected or on his own for quite some time! 4/12/2022 Update. Please keep Bubbie-Bunky in your thoughts today (4.12.22). Bunky is having his shattered & rotted teeth removed (ALL of them) as well as his neuter surgery. Bunky is a VERY GOOD BOY & got into their carrier without incident. However, when he found out he would have to skip breakfast today because of surgery, he wasn't too happy about it. Bunky is a total cuddle-cat in search of a lap to call his own & he's not at all picky about who's lap it is. He loves EVERYONE. 4/24/2022 Update Bubbie-Bunky is a sweet, cuddle-cat who loves other cats - HOWEVER - he is NOT a fan to dogs. So his new family would need to be canine-free. He is recovering from having all his teeth removed. Because he was in such pain & unable to groom himself for so long he had to be shaved in places to remove fur that was matted to the skin. He's neutered up to date on vaccinations, combo tested, & will be ready for a new home once his stray hold is up in a week. 5/25/2022 Update from his foster mom, Alysia Update on Bunky: The tech, staff and Dr Andrew fell in love with this boy! Bunky was given a Cerenia shot, Metronidazole to take home and a steroid shot for his mouth! He had most of his little teeth extracted about a month or so ago but the remaining teeth are bad. Stomatitis!!! He will have a full mouth extraction soon. Poor kid. Other than that, he will hopefully be on the mend and feeling better ASAP! Bunky has a visit with Dr Andrew today. This boy has been vomiting, coughing, sneezing a little and today he has blood in his stool! Stray Streets TNR have graciously allowed me to foster Bunky and they're making sure he is all better fast!! Bunky is also up for adoption and let me tell you, this is one of the sweetest boys I have met in quite some time! I feel as if Bob the Greeter sent him to me to foster so we can have a bit of Bob here with us!! 6/1/2022 Update ADOPTABLE: Good natured Unclecat- Bunky: Apparently Bunky is everyone's favorite uncle! LOL - The raggedy cat that we took in several months ago with bad teeth & a horrible upper respiratory infection is still recovering. He will have his second dental surgery this Friday. Hopefully if we can remove the remainder of his bad teeth his sinuses will finally get a chance to heal as well. Bunky is currently fostering in the cat room of a cat rescuer and a TNR advocate in Essex. He has been entertaining the kittens in the room that come and go around him, because - everyone wants a kitten not a cat. BUT being the good natured guy that he is - he not only tolerates them, he engages them. Bunky is available for adoption (or at this moment to foster -to-adopt). 6/1/2022 Update from Bunky's foster mom, Alysia Bunky tolerates the littles and loves every single cat and human! This boy is the absolute best and obviously has the best tail for playing with! Sixx is always playing with his tail, too. 6/3/2022 Update from Bunky's foster mom, Alysia Our sweet foster boy Bunky will have his dental at Homeward Bound on Monday! 8/13/2022 Update from Bunky's foster mom, Alysia I'm taking my handsome foster boy to Carney Animal Hospital today for his appointment. He has been gagging and vomiting when he eats wet food and it's a deep hoarse sounding gag. I believe his teefs are back at giving him trouble also. Thank you Tamara L. Stickler and Stray Streets TNR, a committee of The Community Projects of Havre de Grace for helping not only Bunky, but many street kitties get medical attention, love and homes! Bunky is searching for his furever, indoor only home. Everyone that visits the sunroom falls in love with Bunky! He is the most loving, gentle lap kitty that I have ever met. Bunky is approximately 5 years of age, fully vetted and up to date on all shots. 9/10/2022 Update Bunky is still looking for a forever home. He loves other cats, & people! (NOT a fan of dogs - too much history.) We are working at finding an answer to a dental issue & will continue to support financially any vet bills associated with that. He is fixed, vaccinated, litterbox trained & microchipped. 9/10/2022 Update from Bunky's foster mom, Alysia This is the face (image "Bunky at the vet") you make when Dr Andrew tells you that you have a heart murmur and asthma! Bunky boy goes back to Carney Animal Hospital this Friday for mouth X-rays to check on the remaining teeth and make sure the previous vet got all of the roots removed on his past extractions. Oh, Bunky!!! Feel better, buddy! Bunky was given a shot of Convenia today and Depo Medrol. This will hold him over until Friday's appointment. Thank you Stray Streets TNR, a committee of The Community Projects of Havre de Grace for always making sure Bunky gets his medical attention and keeping him healthy!! Don't forget, Bunky is still searching for his happily ever after!! 9/17/2022 Update from Bunky's foster mom, Alysia Sorry for the delayed update on Bunky but there wasn't enough time in the day. As you can see, (pics noted Bunky Mouth 1,2 &3) poor Bunky has a very irritated mouth with the stomatitis and Dr Andrew was able to see numerous ulcers in his mouth and throat. This poor kid!! Dr Andrew explained that he can laser the ulcers to remove them to give him relief so we go back in two weeks to make a plan for sweet Bunky! In the meantime, he was given a shot of Convenia and Depo steroid to help alleviate his discomfort for now. This stomatitis is no joke for these cats and they can't tell us what is bothering them or how they are feeling! It's sad! We go back in two weeks to get a better idea of what's to come and an estimate. But in the meantime, it's broth food for Bunky boy! Thank you for your kind words for Bunky and your many prayers! Keep em coming!
